Computer Sales and Service Business for an E2 Visa Investor

If you have already decided that Washington DC is the place you would like to settle then there are some good investment opportunities available in the computer industry. DC residents have one of the highest per capita ownership of computers in the United States. There has been a long association with IT for many decades. Of course much of the web design is all done online and the business investment tends to fall below the minimum amount that an E2 visa requires for investment. The opportunities are more available in the sales and servicing sector. Businesses available for sale are being marketed at around $250,000 and their profitability is built on sales and service of computers, building computer networks for businesses, individuals and institutions such as schools and hospitals.

There are many skilled workers employed in the IT industry so if you purchase an ongoing business you will find some good employees already waiting to take on their new owner. Most ongoing businesses are sold with all furniture, equipment and a website. There is really not much for the new owner to do except actively run the business on a day to day basis and supervise the experienced employees.

With the vibrancy of computer use in DC you will never be short of business and there is even room for growth by advertising your services more thoroughly to attract clients from further afield. This is the way you can more quickly turn your E2 visa into an EB5 by building up bigger returns to reach the $500, 000 required for eligibility for the immigrant visa. You will need to invest that money and you can then convert your E2 visa to an EB5 without leaving the country. You will then have more stability for you and your family in the United States.

It’s quite easy to access information about any computer sales and services businesses that are on the market. Many are advertised online through various websites that specialize in advertising and selling businesses. All the details are listed including location, price, number of employees and most important a breakdown of annual returns. All you need to do is choose one that matches your requirements and price. It’s always a good idea to visit the business first so that you can get the feel of the environment you will be working in. It also gives you a chance to size up any nearby competitors. You can use the time to look for a home for you and your family. Don’t forget that one of the key features of an E2 visa is that your spouse is able to work so you will need to look into what job opportunities are available in the area where your business is likely to be. In order to accelerate your move to gaining an eligible visa for a Green Card ensuring that you and your spouse are making as much money as possible will be a great help.
